Lead by Example

Your Actions are Being Watched 24/7; Best to Set the Bar for Others

In this digital age we live in today, where you effectively can be tracked every minute of every hour of every day, you need to take the reins and show others what it takes to be a good leader, even if you aren’t a leader. Here’s what I mean – people like to mimic others. They do so by observing the actions of others. Therefore, whatever you do, always keep that thought in the back of your mind that whatever you say, whatever you do, and most importantly how you treat others will come back to you. It may not be today or tomorrow but there’s a record somewhere of what you’re doing. So make the most of your actions and show others how to be a decent human being and treat others with respect.

How are you improving other people’s lives? What are you doing today that will impact others in a positive light? If you’re not doing anything to positively impact others then it’s time to change your gameplan. Life is short. God didn’t make you to be a bystander. You were born to fulfill a greater vision – something you probably haven’t even dreamed of yet. And that’s fine. You’ll get there. It takes time. On your way up to the top, be sure to take your friends and others with you. Being selfish will only get you so far. Selflessness on the other hand will take you to great new heights you’ve never imagined.

How do you want to be remembered? By sitting on the sidelines watching others or by being on the field and making some executive decisions? You have a voice, why not use it? Even if it’s done through technology, text still has an impact on people’s lives. It’s easy to criticize today but not any more difficult to praise people. Lift people up with your words whether verbal or written. You’ll feel better about yourself and others will thank you for your kindness. The world may seem pretty dark sometimes but there are people out there who light it up. Why can’t that person be you? We all have this eternal light, some of us just need some help turning that switch on. Hopefully these words today will spark that light in you.
